How to get what you want in a negotiation

Did you know that one of the easiest ways to “YES” in a negotiation is to address the “little things” first?? It’s true. First you hammer out all of the things you can agree on (usually there are LOTS of those) and this sets the tone to an affirmative flavor. Usually price is the last thing discussed. This results-oriented approach has been borne out through the ages and is part of the tried and true methodology of getting what you want. I like to call it “greasing the skids” for a smooth transition to yet another closed deal. Not everybody is knowledgeable or trained in this art. But it’s surprisingly easy to learn.
